Jamming breakbeats with jazzy instrumentation. Now this is the way jazz should be done! A modern mixture of old school jazz and new school electro.
The Bentones – Beer On The Tracks
The radio stream isn’t quite working as well as I want it to, so check back in a few days and I will have a working link. At the moment, it works sometimes but not others. In the meantime, there’s this:
The Bentones sound like exactly what they are – five guys sitting around in the yard playing their instruments. The ensemble consists of two guitars, two mandolins, and an upright bass. Picking an assortment of songs including covers of some well known tunes, the Bentones have the sound of a garage bluegrass band. Because, well, thats what they are. Check them out!
Woops! No updates for 11 days? What’s wrong with me… busy busy busy. So anyways, FL6 is out. There is much clangor over at the looptalk forum. It’s pretty slick, I must say, the new plugins are great. I had a problem with DirectWave, but that may be because the soundfont I tried to load was around 300 MB, heh heh.
And now for something completely different – baggy radio! A mix of everything from trance to rock to electro to reggae to experimental to classical… I think you get the picture. Listen today and let me know what you think.
News
I’m thinking of linking to not only entire albums, but any type of netlabel release. This will open up a whole new world of music for you to explore. If you think this is a good idea, then let me know.
Raz Mesinai
Today, we have not an album for you, but a collection of free tracks from multiple albums by a guy named Raz Mesinai. Not sure how to classify the style, it’s sort of drum and bass meets classical and eastern. Throw in a healthy dose of breakbeats and weird vocal samples and there you have it. Don’t miss this aural experience. Once you get to the website, click MP3 to get all the tracks listed together, or discography to get a breakdown of each cd. Enjoy!
Also today, if anyone is having trouble keeping there genres straight, then check out Ishkurs Guide To Electronic Music. It is a very educational and well thought out site.
bahgheera – Landing
Check out Landing, my latest track in the music section.
Also, check out a hilarious way to learn how to shred on a guitar, at The Guitar Shred Show. Even if you have no interest in learning to play, it’s a fun little cartoon that you can play with the keyboard. Enjoy!

GeeNerv – Suspense Dance Delights
Drunken Gunmen – Deep Space, Distant Future
Stellamara – Star Of The Sea
_11.26.05 // There’s a new track in the music section called Landing. And for todays album:
I don’t even know how to begin to describe Stellamara, other than simply beautiful. Star Of The Sea is a moving album, full of lush soundscapes that evoke a peaceful sense of exploration. From the website:
Their music incorporates medieval European, Persian, Arabic, Indian, Turkish and Balkan with subtle electronic textures. The result is a sublime new level of mystery, beauty and depth.
Definitely give this one a listen!
