Links
Three great links for today. The first is DJ Keltech, a turntablist DJ who likes to play dressup while doing his thing. A great set of videos, especially check out the star wars vid. Second is a video of a guy called Kid Beyond, an Ableton Live user who creates entire songs with his voice. Make sure you have broadband for this one. Next up is Extreme Music, an awesome flash site that provides listenable (not downloadable) music in a variety of styles. Classical, electro, world, and just about everything else are represented here. Click away and have fun!
Lost
I have a horrible confession: I like Lost. My wife got me hooked on it, and it is interesting I must say. There are so many story lines going on at the same time, and they’re all really wierd story lines. You have your 47 (47! – Beth???) people stranded on an island due to a plane crash, with all the interactions between the different personality types (the doctor, the mysterious woman, the jerk, the rock star, etc) PLUS: there’s something out in the jungle. Something big. No, something HUGE. It tears down trees. On top of that there are polar bears on the island and a strange man in a suit who hangs out at the treeline and disappears into the jungle every time someone sees him. Also, theres a distress call emanating from the island thats been playing for sixteen years. Like I said – wierd. This is the best show I’ve seen since The X-Files. Now you may be way ahead of me here, but understand – I’ve never actaully seen the show before this week. My wife ordered the dvd’s from Netflix and I’m only four episodes into the series. But rest assured, I will catch up. Alright, I’m going to go watch some more Lost now…

Catacombs of France
Paris, France. Home of the Eiffel Tower, The Thinker, The Louvre and the Mona Lisa. Just below the city streets lies a maze of tunnels. In the late 18th century, hundreds of thousands of Parisian remains were placed in the tunnels. WARNING: Not for the faint of heart! < Images >
One man took the time to write his story about exploring the catacombs of Paris. An interesting and tense read.
And while I’m at it, check out the magazine Infiltration, go ahead and feed the bit of counter-culturalist inside yourself.
