Singing Crane has released a five track ep of his signature style electro. A mixup of breakbeats, trance, and decidedly eerie synth sounds take the listener on a moving trip through the cosmos of the mind. Beats that keep the listener paying attention mingle with classic synth sounds and an assortment of audio textures that tie it all together. Singing Crane also has a flash player at his site with lots of his other music. Me and my new favorite band – Decyfer Down
Today I went to Shoutfest, a Christian music festival featuring artists such as Air Five, StorySide:B, and Matt Blair. The music was all pretty awesome for the most part, but Decyfer Down stole the show for me. Ever since learning of them about two months ago on 88.5 The Edge I’ve been listening to their cd End Of Grey almost nonstop. It’s been quite a while since I’ve listened to Christian music, or anything popular on the radio for that matter as you faithful few should know by now. Decyfer Down is a hard rock band, along the lines of Chevelle. It seems I’m coming back around in my musical taste to radio style rock, and this is a good place to start.
I was lucky enough to get to talk to a couple of the band members, who seemed pretty cool guys. I always try to avoid to much contact, cause I don’t want people to think I’m a crazed stalker fan, heh heh. I got some pretty decent pictures of the handful of songs they played and one awesome shot of me with them. Pretty stoked about meeting my latest rock heros. So here’s some shots below and check out Decyfer Down’s music at their myspace page. Yeah yeah I know… myspace! I’m going to break my own rule for once, just go there and listen to ‘Burn Back The Sun’ – thats the song that got me hooked. -
Long time no see…
It’s been a busy summer what with my company being bought out and a little one who now can walk and explore places such as kitchen cabinets and eh… shall we say ‘sanitary fixtures’? Sorry there’s been no new music here for the last few but things are starting to slow down a bit so music posts should be picking up again. To start off, go check out Stephen Garton’s page. Stephen composes orchestral music. He has thirteen tracks on his site, but unfortunately they are not downloadable. But they are definitely worth listening to, just leave a browser window open in the background and let the sites flash player do the work.
If anyone still comes around these parts, if you know of a band or artist that has music on the web that deserves a mention here, then please by all means contact me. It takes quite a bit of time to search through all the music, worth posting and otherwise, that I come across on the web.

Whew! It’s been a while since I posted, summer has been very busy. At any rate, here’s Arturo Garces with a very nice set of minimal dance tracks. Deep sounds and beats with just the right amount of swing will get you moving. Or at least snapping your fingers. Look for the third release from the top of the page. -

Schilli-San – Smooth Situations
From the German net label Sofasound comes Schilli San. Smooth Situations is indeed what this release is all about; it doesn’t get much smoother. I once heard that if the mirror inside the hubble space telescope was scaled up to the size of the Atlantic ocean, the imperfections would only be a couple thousandths of an inch high. Thats how smooth these seven tracks are. Jazz influences combine with slightly glitchy drum tracks and acoustic instruments are mixed with synthesized instruments and samples that drive the whole thing home. Smooth Situations is a don’t miss release. -
Equivallentium – Unexplainable
From the Stretching Spaces netlabel comes Equivallentium with fifty five minutes of fast paced drums and classic synth sounds. I’m not sure if this is breakbeat or hip hop or techno or what, but it is definitely worth a listen. BTW, to find it you need to scroll about two thirds of the way down the page; it’s listed as ‘STRETCH017’. -
Kliment – Time Revision A
Kliment is standard trance, but this release stood out. Subtle changes and classic synth sounds coupled with odd sound fx and vocal samples set the mood for two hours of grooving electro.
