Somewhere in a small town southwest of Chicago, there is an auto parts and service shop. The building looks like it must have been erected in the 1950s or 1960s. I noticed this building quite a few years back, as I drive past it on the way to work when I’m in this area.

I stopped one day and asked if I could take some interior and exterior photos. The gentleman who owns the place didn’t mind me doing so. I really wanted to capture the antiquity of the building and its contents, but I wasn’t able to get more than a couple of photos of the inside. I focused on an old International dump truck that had been converted to a snow plow. The faded blue snow plow had that rusty, antique character that I was looking for. I included a view of the front of the building. I wanted to share the windows, as they are what grabbed my attention years ago. Also you can see the working area of the shop, where the owner sits at his desk attending to business.
